About Digital Skills For Women
Digital Skills For Women began in 2013 as a response to the UK Government’s Digital Challenge, specifically the need to tackle the growing gender divide in the digital technology sector.
Since then, MadLab has run over 50 training sessions under the DSW banner, benefitting over 250 unemployed and underemployed women.
Nominated for a “Women in STEM” award as part of Manchester City Council's International Women’s Day celebrations, we return with our most ambitious project to date.
Manchester Digital Laboratory (MadLab) is a grassroots innovation organisation, based in Manchester UK. Our primary areas of focus are science and technology; arts and culture.
We support a diverse range of communities and activities – from monthly meetups and courses through to public experimentation with new & emerging technologies, and collaborating with others to deliver new, interesting and exciting projects.
Our main base of operations is a three-storey, 3000 square foot Industrial Revolution-era former weavers’ cottage centrally located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
We are less than ten minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria train stations (see How to Find Us), and just two minutes walk from the Arndale Shopping Centre.
